American flag stolen from beloved theme park days before July 4th fireworks show

A big American flag at a North Carolina Wild West railroad park was stolen. Tweetsie Railroad at Blowing Rock, North Carolina has a steam train, Wild West entertainment, and over a dozen rides.  

20 Disney Park visitors stuck on roller coaster when ride malfunctions WXII-TV reported that the flag was stolen between 10:00 p.m. Friday and 1:00 a.m. Saturday.  

The crime is being investigation by the Watauga County Sheriff's Office. The sheriff's office suspects the 30-by-50-foot flag on an elevated railroad track was ripped or cut, WXII reported.   

Tweetsie park traditionally hosts July 4th fireworks. Old Glory was stolen this year, but Tweetsie will still stage its fireworks celebration.   

July 4 is Tweetsie Railroad's park opening anniversary. The Watauga County Sheriff's Office requests that anyone with information call Crime Stoppers at 828-268-6959.   

Tweetsie and the Watauga County Sheriff's Office did not comment to Fox News Digital.
