Best Fried Cabbage With Bacon Recipe

With bacon and onions, this fried cabbage is tender. A quick, low-carb side dish for any occasion!  

– 8 slices bacon coarsely chopped – 1 white onion finely diced – 1 head green cabbage cored and cut into 1 inch piece – 1 teaspoon sugar optional – salt and pepper to taste – 1 tablespoon chopped parsley


Set a big pan on medium-high heat. It will take about 4 to 5 minutes of cooking after adding the bacon until it turns brown.  


Step 1

Put the onions in the pan and cook them for three to four minutes, until they become clear.  

Step 2

Put in the pepper, sugar, salt, and lettuce. While cooking, stir the cabbage every now and then until it softens.   

Step 3

You might need to add some water to help the cabbage cook faster.  Add some parsley on top, and then serve.
