Classic Stuffed Shells Recipe

Three varieties of cheese are loaded into these shells, coated in marinara sauce and additional cheese, then baked until golden brown. Classic comfort dish for a crowd!  

– 24 jumbo pasta shells cooked according to package direction – 15 ounces ricotta cheese – 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese divided use – 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning – salt and pepper to taste – 1 egg – 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese – 3 cups marinara sauce divided use – 2 tablespoons parsley chopped – cooking spray


Heat the oven to 375°F. Coat a 9x13 baking pan with cooking spray. Evenly distribute 1 1/2 cups of marinara sauce in the pan.  


Step 1

In a bowl, mix ricotta, 1 1/2 cups mozzarella, Italian seasoning, egg, salt, pepper, and parmesan. Mix well.  

Step 2

Ricotta-fill each shell and set in the baking dish. Spread the leftover marinara sauce on the shells and top with 1 1/2 cups of cheese.  

Step 3

Cover dish with foil. Bake 20 minutes. Uncover the pan and bake for 10 minutes until cheese melts and starts to brown. Sprinkle parsley and serve.
