Fox News Channel viewership crushes MSNBC, CNN during second quarter

Fox News informs Americans.CNN experienced a 33-year low in a key category in Q2 2024, while Fox News dominated primetime for the 90th straight quarter.  

Fox had 1.3 million daily viewers, MSNBC 810,000, and CNN 473,000. FOX News' "The Ingraham Angle," "Jesse Watters Primetime," "Hannity," and "Gutfeld!" averaged 2 million viewers, MSNBC 1.2 million, and CNN 618,000 from 7-11 p.m   

"The Five" averaged 3.1 million in Q2, the most for television news. "The Five," with Greg Gutfeld, Jesse Watters, Dana Perino, Jeanine Pirro, Jessica Tarlov, and Harold Ford Jr., is the only non-primetime cable news show to lead for 11 quarter   

Fox News' "Hannity," "Gutfeld!," "Special Report with Bret Baier," "The Ingraham Angle," and "Outnumbered" followed "Jesse Watters Primetime" with 2.7 million viewers.   

With 1.6 million viewers, MSNBC's "Deadline: White House," ranked seventh except for Fox News.  CNN's top-rated show was "The Lead with Jake Tapper," 29th on cable with 716,000 viewers. "The Lead" followed 14 Fox/MSNBC shows.   

For nearly three years, "FOX & Friends" outdrew MSNBC and CNN morning shows with 1.1 million viewers.   

"America's Newsroom with Bill Hemmer and Dana Perino," "The Faulkner Focus," "America Reports with John Roberts and Sandra Smith," Martha MacCallum's "The Story," and "Your World with Neil Cavuto" beat cable for the day.

Fox "Gutfeld!" tops "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert," RT "Jimmy Kimmel Live!," & "The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon," "Late Night with Seth Meyers," & "After Midnight."  

Fox News won the advertiser-coveted 25-54-year-old category with 14 top-rated cable news shows. The greatest critical demo viewership was 295,000 for "Gutfeld!"  

CNN averaged 85,000 demo viewers, Fox 154,000, MSNBC 83,000. Fox News averaged 214,000 advertiser-coveted viewers from 7-11 p.m. ET, CNN 120,000, and MSNBC 113,000.   

CNN and MSNBC plummeted double-digits in 25-54, but Fox News rose. CNN's demo audience for the presidential debate last week was its lowest since 1991.
