'Heart' vocalist Ann Wilson announces tour postponement due to cancer: “I have more to sing.”

Heart lead vocalist Ann Wilson announced her cancer diagnosis on Tuesday.

"I recently underwent an operation to remove something that, as it turns out, was cancerous," the 74-year-old stated on social media.

She stated the operation was "successful" and she's "feeling great," but "my doctors are now advising me to undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy & I’ve decided to do it."

She said her physicians urged her to take the rest of the year off and postpone Heart's North American tour until next year.

At the end of July in Ohio, the band's "Royal Flush" tour of the U.S. and Canada will culminate in Las Vegas on Dec. 15.

Wilson told ticket buyers, "I really do wish we could do these gigs," and she "absolutely" plans to perform next year.

"My team is getting those details sorted & we’ll let you know the plans as soon as we can," she said, calling this her "last public statement" on the matter. She thanked followers for "all the support," calling it a "pause."
